How do I measure a Chief Industries pie pan?
There are four critical dimensions to consider when measuring a Chief Industries pie pan. These dimensions are important to ensure that our pie pan will fit your desire.
- Top-Out: is the overall diameter, measured from the outermost edges of the pie pan.
- Top-In: is the inside diameter at the highest part of the sidewall, measured across the inside opening of the pie pan.
- Bottom: is the diameter at the bottom or lowest part of the sidewall, measured by flipping the pie pan over.
- Vertical-Depth: is the height of the pie pan sidewall, measured from the bottom surface to top flange of the pie pan.
How accurate do I need to measure?
This is a tricky subject. Generally, the best advice is to measure everything as accurately as possible. However, that poses the question of, "what is as accurately as possible"? If you try to measure the top-out on one of our pie pans with a digital caliper, you will likely get a different measurement than if you were to measure with a standard ruler. Moreover, if two people were to both measure the same pan with the same ruler or caliper, they will likely get different measurements as well.
The measurements that Chief Industries publishes have been carefully crafted to ensure easy measurement and acceptance to industry standard machinery and equipment. We publish dimensions that have been rounded to the nearest 16th of an inch. If you have specific size requirements or equipment restrictions, please give us a call at (714) 891-3571.
How can Chief Industries help me advertise more effectively?
In the overwhelming world of advertising, brand awareness is imperative to a successful marketing campaign. As reported by Lane and Keller in the Marketing Science Institute, “the presence of advertising retrieval cues (logos, icons combined with name) on packaging leads to an 18 percent increase in brand evaluation and a 10 percent increase in purchase intentions.”
Essentially, Lane and Keller are saying, as a customer finishes your baked goods to find your custom embossed logo on the pie pan, they are more likely to recognize your brand in a favorable manner. More importantly, the use of visual cues, such as a custom embossed pie pan, raises the customer’s likeliness to purchase more in the future.
